INVITATION TO CONTRIBUTE IN ARRANGING GEOINNO2020

We invite you as student at UiS Business School to contribute to the carrying out of the Geography of Innovation Conference 2020. The event brings together some of the world’s leading scholars from a variety of disciplines, such as economic geography, economics and management science, and sociology and network theory. It takes place from 29th – 31st January 2020 at Clarion Hotel Energy. More information can be found at geoinno2020.com.

As conference contributor you will be assigned with different tasks, but you will also get the chance to participate at sessions you find interesting. After end of assignment, you will be provided with a certificate that states your amount of hours of contribution to organising and executing GEOINNO2020, a research conference with over 350 participants.

Tasks/roles
  1. Registration desk – Registration of participants throughout the conference
  2. Room managers – Audio/visual assistance and closing rooms when reached maximum capacity
  3. Information team – Present around at the venue helping people to find their way to the plenary room, parallel rooms, restrooms, coffee area, lunch area, etc.
  4. Information desk – Fixed point to help participants with questions about the programme, reception and dinner venues, bus departures, etc.

You will rotate between the different roles, and you will also have several free slots where you can join sessions of interest as audience. How much “free time” during a day will depend on the number of students we get to contribute, and the need of manpower at the venue.

You will be given access to the lunch buffet all of the days.
