The call for papers is not going to be re-opened. However, any interested scholars, students and stakeholders are welcome to attend this conference, whether or not they have a paper accepted for presentation. An overview of the tentative conference programme can be found here.

The local unit of the GEOINNO2022 Organising Committee has now decided that the 6th Geography of Innovation Conference will take place in Milan on 4th – 6th July 2022.

The registration will re-open presumably mid-March for all participants who had their paper accepted. More information about registration will be made available from our webpage and through our Twitter account @geoinno2022 as soon as the registration dates have been settled. The call for papers will not re-open. However, any interested scholars, students and stakeholders are welcome to attend this conference, whether or not they have a paper accepted for presentation. For those who have already registered and paid the conference fees, you should now have been automatically reimbursed on your credit card. Please let us know if this is not the case.

Due to the worsening of the pandemic situation, with particular regard to the rapid diffusion of the omicron variant across many countries, the GEOINNO2022 Organising Committee is sorry to announce that the 6th Geography of Innovation Conference will not take place in Milan on 26th – 28th January 2022.

The organisers were very eager to facilitate this in-person event and were hoping until the very last minute that the conference could be held. However, current and expected contagion data suggest acting with caution and a sense of responsibility.

As the GEOINNO series of conferences is not merely an arena for presenting research, but most importantly a forum in which scholars with different, but related interests meet, network, and build relationships, it was never considered to turn the conference into a digital event.

It has rather been decided to postpone the conference to early July 2022. The hope and anticipation is that the epidemiological situation by that time will be more under control and will allow the execusion of a safe and relaxed conference. Please note that the exact dates will be announced as soon as possible, at latest by the end of January 2022.

For those who have already registered and paid the conference fees, you will be reimbursed on your credit card automatically. There is no action needed on your side.

The registration will re-open about two months prior to the conference for all participants who had their paper accepted. You will be informed about this via email as soon as the new dates have been settled.
