Matt Marx is the Bruce F. Failing, Sr. Chair and Faculty Director of Entrepreneurship at Cornell University, and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Professor Marx studies barriers to the commercialization of science and technology, curating large-scale, open datasets (relianceonscience.org), which have been downloaded more than 37,000 times. Prior to his academic career, he was a software engineer and executive at two speech-recognition startups that created a billion dollars in enterprise value. He holds six patents as well as degrees from Stanford, MIT, and Harvard.
